the comma is perfectly right there, it seperates two different parts of the sentence. different rules in the english language there ;)

I think its pretty hard for a Translation program to understand grammar completely. Such programs may help you to find the right vocabulary, but they will never form correct Sentences. Its always better to ask someone :)

Nobody bats an eye on the "then" in this sentence? As far as I can remember, a "than" makes much more sense here.

I think you are wrong, but im not comepletely sure.
Maybe both Forms are possible - but we would need to ask a native Speaker to find out ^^
