And that's exactly why I assumed that unicorns and earth ponies would cooperate since they share a common natural habitat. And that is the surface of their Earth.

A countermeasure would be quite simple and yet effective for the unicorns - not raising the sun. And since unicorns are in the defending position, they would have a major advantage. At least they wouldn't have to suffer under the heat and pegasi DO want to see the sun again. In this scenario, unicorns could threaten to doom the entire race if the pegasi refuse to cease hostilities.

And if you take this ability into consideration, you could also argue that Dashie's ability of breaking the sonic barrier by reaching speeds of over 1234 km/h which is pretty impressive.

Sunset Shimmer can teleport as well. And I doubt that there is a distance limit of unicorn teleportation. In Twilights Kingdom Part II we can clearly see that Twilight teleports all around Equestria because she's pumped up with Alicorn Magic and doesn't have the ability to control it just yet.

The speed of sound is literally pretty darn slow compared to the speed of light. The speed of sound, as you said, is 1234 km/h, whereas the speed of light is over 1,000,000,000 km/h. And even if the speed of teleportation would "only" be 1% the speed of light, Rainbows flight at the low end of supersonic speed would still be slow as fuck compared to 1% of the speed of light, which still would be about 3,000 km per second.

Sure, but a pegasus still would need to make physical contact with it. Unicorns, however, don't have to. They have, like I said yesterday, a pretty impressive range of operation.
