I think I could do a decent job saying it. It might just seem intimidating to some because it's very long. Like I often say, though, German pronunciation is very rigid about following the rules. Much easier than English pronunciation.

Only because you've already learned them individually. The point is, you have to learn them on a case-by-case basis because just looking at the spelling doesn't necessarily tell you how to pronounce something in English.

I don't even remember how I learned these particular words. But what I know is that English is a pretty easy language to me and even though I had the basics from school to build on; I dare to say that I learned 90% all by myself.

Well, reading and writing it is fairly easy. Relatively speaking, anyway. Lots of people fail hard at reading and writing it, but then again lots of people are stupid. Regardless, my main point was that speaking English tends to be much more challenging because of the large number of phonemes we use in our words - and since we don't use diacritics, there are more phonemes than letters and we have to assign multiple pronunciations to letters.

I usually stay away from fanfics, but I suppose with your recommendation I'll give them a try. Too often in the past I've found myself wanting to throttle the writers while yelling "YOUR FANFIC IS BAD AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD"
