No. I've shot on ranges for fun before, but I've never seen any reason to actually own any. Why spend a few hundred dollars on a gun and certification when I could instead spend it on something that I'll actually enjoy? Cost-benefit analysis.

Besides, generally whoever shoots first, shoots last. If someone has a loaded gun out and ready to go, if you try to draw on them then the person getting shot will be YOU. Guns DO result in a whole lot of unarmed people getting shot, though.

And that mentality is exactly what leads to people getting shot for no good reason. If you (not you personally, just hypothetically speaking) don't have a gun, then you can't get pissed at me during a drunken argument and decide to shoot me.

We have the highest per capita gun homicides, suicides, and accidental injuries/deaths of any developed country. I don't want to be one of those.
