Die Anwälte von Dr. Murray versuchen in den letzten Tagen vor Prozessbeginn zu erreichen, dass Dr. Steven Shafer, ein Zeuge für die Staatsanwaltschaft, nicht aussagen darf. Dr. Shafer soll aussagen, dass die orale Einnahme von Propofol nicht tödlich sei. Belegen sollen dies zwei Studien. In einer Studie meldeten sich sechs chilenische Studenten freiwillig zum Versuch, Propofol zu trinken und alle sechs haben dieses Experiment ohne Schaden überlebt. In der zweiten Studie wurde das gleiche Experiment an Schweinen vorgenommen und das Resultat war gleich. Die Anwälte von Dr. Murray versuchen nun, die Aussage des medizinischen Experten zu unterbinden, indem sie behaupten, dass diese Studien nur auf Hörensagen beruhen, weil Dr. Shafer an den Tests selbst nicht beteiligt war. Der richterliche Entscheid ist noch ausstehend. Dr. Shafner soll zudem gesagt haben,

"Nichts, das Murray in seiner Pflege von Michael Jackson vorgenommen hat, deuten auf die Handlungen eines ausgebildeten Arztes hin."

Ferner wurde der Antrag der Verteidigung auf Isolierung der Geschworenen erneut abgelehnt. Das kalifornische Berufungsgericht entschied, dass Richter Pastor bei seinem Entscheid nicht über das ihm zustehende Ermessen hinaus vorgegangen sei.

Der Prozess findet nun wie geplant statt, wobei mit die Auswahl der Geschworenen morgen begonnen wird.

Aha, jetzt will die Verteidigung auch noch Studien in Zweifel stellen und den Dr. Shafer an einer Aussage hindern. Mal ganz ehrlich, wenn du MJ wärst und hättest extra einen Arzt engagiert, um dir ein bestimmtest Mittel gefahrenlos verabreichen zu können, würdest du dieses Zeug dann ohne Bedenken einfach trinken?

Beyonce Cancels Appearance in Michael Jackson Tribute Concert



The star-studded roster for the Michael Jackson tribute concert in Cardiff, Wales next month was shaken up after news broke that Beyonce will no longer perform via life satellite. She will, however make “a special contribution on video” according to the Ticketmaster website. Several Jacksons won’t be in attendance either due to the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray.

A source confirmed the news to RadarOnline: ”Beyonce won’t be performing a song live via satellite for the tribute concert now.” The October 8 concert also won’t have Michael’s siblings Janet, Randy and Jermaine in attendance due to the doctor’s trial.

That said, Katherine Jackson indicated she will indeed attend the concert and Michael’s kids will attend it as well! Showing her support for the show, Michael’s sister LaToya will watch it in Wales, too.

Apparently that may not satisfy Michael Jackson fans who were annoyed promoters are offering two for one deal on tickets, especially to fans who already paid full price for their seat. The concert promoter didn’t immediately respond to RadarOnline’s request to comment on the story.

Michael Jackson news: Madame Tussauds, jury selection, competing show



Just as the search for 18 jurors in the Michael Jackson death trial against Dr. Conrad Murray gets underway today in L.A., Madame Tussauds at the Venetian unveils a new display experience. Three wax figures will be unveiled to highlight various stages in the late King of Pop’s career.

More than $1 million was spent on the wax sculptings to cover The Jackson 5 years, the Invincible era and the ill-fated This Is It planned concerts in London that were shelved upon his death. The Michael Jackson Experience, which had only been seen previously in L.A., is a limited-engagement attraction that will run at the Venetian from today through Dec. 27.

Anybody who shows that they share the same Aug. 29 birthday as Michael receives free admission. The superstar began his relationship with Madame Tussauds in 1984 with his first sitting for measurements and reference photos. His waxwork figure has been reproduced for every Madame Tussauds around the world.

Meantime, plans were revealed this week for a new Michael Jackson touring show that pits it against the planned Cirque du Soleil Immortal production. Two members of Michael’s family -- brother Tito and eldest sister Rebbie -- have teamed with producer David Gest and singer Deniece Williams, a longtime family friend, for the traveling show.

They say that their production will combine never-before-told details about The King of Pop and feature a treasure trove of unseen footage and Katherine Jackson videos of Michael that David will partially show in a new documentary on Michael set for release this winter.

A Jackson Named Michael: Remembering a Legend will reportedly be an intimate and glittering tribute with Tito, Rebbie and Deniece performing Michael’s classic hits through the years. Audiences will be invited to sing along and ask questions of the stars onstage.

The show will first run in 24 British cities starting in March and then move to elsewhere in Europe, Australia and the U.S. Cirque’s production will premiere in Montreal on Oct. 2 and has already twice expanded its play dates in cities around the world for the first two years of its run.

Immortal lands here at Mandalay Bay Events Center in early December, and then in 2013, Cirque plans to open a full resident show, replacing The Lion King at Mandalay Bay Theater.

Another HUGE addition to the upcoming Michael Jackson tribute concert ... TMZ has learned Jamie Foxx has signed on and will perform LIVE in Wales at the October show.

Foxx joins Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo, Smokey Robinson and others who are set to perform at the Oct. 8 show.

Sources connected to the show tell TMZ ... show organizers are pumped up about Beyonce's performance -- and insist she did NOT pull out, despite a report to the contrary.

We're told B is recording a "unique, never before seen performance" that will be played at the show ... just as she committed to do.

Ils seront douze. Douze à décider du sort du Dr Conrad Murray dans l'un des procès les plus attendus de ces dernières années, parce qu'il donnera une explication à la mort de Michael Jackson. Ou devrait en donner une. Car alors que la sélection des jurés débutait ce vendredi 9 septembre, la bataille d'experts et d'avocats avait déjà commencé depuis le lendemain du décès du roi de la pop, le 25 juin 2009. Une fin tragique très vite expliquée par une overdose de Propofol, puissant anesthésiant. D'où la mise en cause du médecin...

Choisis parmi 160 Américains présélectionnés, les jurés ont d'abord eu droit à une question pour le moins étonnante de la part du juge Michael Pastor. Il désirait savoir si, par le plus incroyable des hasards, l'un d'eux ignorait tout de l'affaire. Mais pas de mouton à cinq pattes, qui aurait pourtant fait un juré parfait. D'où ce commentaire du magistrat: "Evidemment, on ne s'attendait pas à ce que vous ayez récemment fait un séjour sur Mars !"

N'empêche que ce large panel de citoyens devra d'abord en passer par un grand quizz : "le questionnaire le plus complet que j'aie jamais vu", dit encore le juge qui sacrifie à l'indispensable représentativité de la population de Los Angeles. Et si ça ne suffit pas, l'AFP nous rappelle que "de nouveaux jurés potentiels peuvent être appelés".

Bref, un avant-procès qui donne le ton de débats qui promettent une lutte hautement stratégique des avocats face à un magistrat qui ne veut laisser aucun arrière-goût de travail bâclé. Mais, on peut le parier : quel que soit le résultat du procès, la mort de Michael Jackson sera l'objet de doutes. Parce que, concernant une telle star, le mot fin n'a pas de sens.

Das in Houston ansässige Kardiologe steht vor einer fahrlässigen Tötung verantwortlich, zu dem er auf nicht schuldig plädiert. Murray steht vor vier Jahren Gefängnis und der Verlust seiner Approbation im Falle einer Verurteilung.

These are just some of the questions potential Jurors in the of Dr. Conrad Murray trial must answer.

The document included a list of more than 140 potential witnesses, including all three of Jackson's children.

In the cover letter to the questionnaire, Judge Michael Pastor instructed potential jurors to “not discuss the questionnaire or your answers with anyone else, including your family, friend or fellow jurors.”

He went on to advise them that their answers are considered a statement under oath and are signed under “penalty of perjury.”

NBCLA provided a copy of the questionnaire to Michael Cobo, an executive with DecisionQuest, a nationwide jury consulting firm.

"It's not about the drugs and it's not about the doctor. It's about the experience and the exposure to social media and social networking. That's what so much of this questionnaire is designed for," Cobo said.

Some of the 100 jurors currently pooled will be dismissed based on their written answers. Those that remain will have in-person interviews with the attorneys and judge beginning on September 23rd.

Many potential jurors were eliminated because of the extended length of the trial. It is expected to be a five week case.

Earlier Friday the judge also warned the jurors to stay away from all media and Internet coverage of the trial.

Jane Velez-Mitchell von HNL News and Views befragt die Narkoseärztin Nancy Strand zum Thema, ob man von einer oralen Einnahme von Propofol sterben bzw. überdosieren kann. Auch Dr. Strand bestätigt, dass dies nicht möglich sei, da Propofol ein Medikament sei, das intravenös verabreicht werden muss. Das heisst, nur wenn eine zu hohe Dosierung direkt in den Blutstrom gelangt, könne das gefährliche bis fatale Folgen haben, was bei einer oralen Einnahme nicht der Fall ist.

Gest to return to town with Jacko tribute show

TV celebrity and producer David Gest is set to return to Berwick in March with a live tribute show in honour of his pop icon friend, Michael Jackson.

The ‘I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here’ star will be joined by the late singer’s two siblings, Tito and Rebbie Jackson and singer Deniece Williams for ‘A Jackson Named Michael: Remembering a Legend’.

The show promises to reveal never-before-told details about Michael Jackson and his phenomenal career.

Williams, a Jackson family friend, will perform a number of her hit tunes such as ‘Let’s Hear It For The Boy’, ‘Free’ & ‘Too Much, Too Little, Too Late’. She will be joined by Rebbie Jackson, who made the top 10 in the US with her hit entitled ‘Centipede’.

Tito Jackson will perform some of the classic Jackson 5 and the Jacksons hits including ‘Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)’ with the audience joining in.

The setting for each show will be intimate with just a trio, pianist and movie screen, while the stage itself will be adorned with classic images of Michael. There will even be a Q&A with the audience. Gest will produce the shows.

According to Gest: “The majority of the show that we will put on in Berwick will be reminiscences and stories about Michael that the public has never heard.

“I will also unveil a treasure trove of film clips that were not included in my upcoming film. I have more than five hours of unseen footage and 30 minutes of rare Katherine Jackson footage of her reminiscing about Michael growing up in Gary as well as stories about all her kids.”

Tito Jackson added: “To see the four of us on stage will be a blast and we all have so many funny and wonderful stories about Michael that will leave the crowd laughing, crying and spellbound all at the same time.”

Gest, who paid a visit to Berwick only last month, will reveal the date and venue nearer the time.

Michael Jackson death: Court narrows down jury



A court in Los Angeles has completed the first phase of selecting a jury for the trial of Michael Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray.

A total of 145 people have been chosen to go forward to the next stage of the selection process.

This involved completing a 30-page questionnaire about the pop star, his music and the media coverage of his death in June 2009.

Dr Murray has pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter.

The potential jurors were also asked whether they knew anyone on a long list of people who may be called as witnesses during the trial, such as the singer's three children, his parents and brothers and sisters.

Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor decided there were sufficient prospective jury members available to go on to the next stage, in which they will be questioned in court on 23 September.

The questionnaire asked potential jurors to give their thoughts about the singer and the fact his family members would be in court for the evidence.

They were asked whether they had seen the posthumous Jackson concert movie This Is It, or had bought any of his CDs, DVDs or memorabilia.



Questions included: "Have you ever considered yourself a fan of Michael Jackson or the Jackson family?"

They were also required to say how much they knew about the case against Dr Murray.

Dr Murray's lawyer Edward Chernoff has already said in court that the defence's position is that Jackson was addicted to the painkiller demerol and was withdrawing from it when he died.

Dr Murray, who was hired by Jackson to help prepare for his planned July 2009 comeback concerts at London's O2 Arena, was in charge of administering the anaesthetic to the star.
