Well of course it's not entirely serious. Honestly, part of the reason the Roman Empire fell is because they let themselves culturally and technologically stagnate in their later years, so a bunch of guys with horses and higher-tech bows were able to fuck them up. Still, most people are okay with blaming Genghis Khan. Or writing songs about him, you know, whichever. :P:

Mongol composite bows were actually quite a technological accomplishment. They were as powerful as English longbows, and only needed to be half as long.

The Romans couldn't have successfully ruled over the whole planet, anyway. They could barely rule what they had. Hadrian's Wall was built in Britain because England was just so far away and the Picts were too much trouble. Also, they kept slaves, and slave-owning has historically slowed the development of machinery - why make a machine to do a job efficiently when you can just throw slaves at it?

Exactly, I would bless them with technology, for example steam engines, mechanical computers and so on... And they were in bad need of our decimal system.
And of course I would show them how to make firearms and all that kind of stuff.
With such advanced technology they would've been able to conquer and rule earth.
