Actually, no. I know you like to blame the US for things, but there is no factual way to deny that Saddam started the Gulf War.

Because after World War 2 the US government has had a hard-on for playing the world's policeman. We had no financial incentive to go to Vietnam, we only went because France asked for help. We had nothing to gain financially in Bosnia, Honduras, or Somalia (just picked the biggest ones from the 80's and 90's, there are plenty more).

We went to Kuwait to teach Saddam that he's just a big fish in a small pond, and we're not going to put up with him trying to conquer his neighbors.
