Of course, and thats because English is a pretty simple Language in my opinion. Just think about the articles:

It's relatively simple to get a grasp of it, yes - but beyond that, it get's more complicated. English isn't less expressive than the German or indeed any other language, you just have to know how to say it.

Yes of course. I was just defending the English language against the accusation of being 'simple', even though you probably didn't want to imply it was therefore less expressive.

It can be as expressive as any other Language, but i think the Grammar is not as complicated as in other Languages. The declination of Verbs is another example.

try to learn irish (gaelic), then you know, what's complicated :D

'back to square one' = und wieder von vorne anfangen

to drop off the map = von der Bildfläche verschwinden

'push the dasies' = a weng tot sein

I love it when a Plan comes together - Ich liebe es wenn ein Plan funktioniert

' i threw up my lunch' = ich habe das mittagessen ausgekotzt

skeletons in the closet = Leichen im Keller

'clean out the press' - den kuechenschrank aufraeumen

To paint yourself in a corner - in einer aussichtslosen Situation sein.
