That's bad!
£160million worth of Michael Jackson's back catalogue has been stolen

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2110022/Michael-Jacksons-catalogue-stolen.html

Michael Jackson's entire back catalogue has been stolen by internet hackers.

Sony music suffered its second major security breach in a year, with thieves targeting songs and unreleased material by the superstar singer.

It's alleged they downloaded more than 50,000 music files, worth £160million, in the biggest ever cyber attack on a music company.

The news comes just a year after Sony paid £250million for the seven-year rights to the songs following Jacko's death.

The contract with Jackson's estate also allowed them to release 10 new albums, including material from studio sessions produced during the making of some of the star's biggest albums.

The singer, who died in June 2009 at the age of 50, had recorded unreleased duets with artists ranging from the late Freddie Mercury and Black Eyed Peas singer Will.i.am.

In April the details of 77million gamers were stolen after Sony's Playstation Network was hacked. The breach cost Sony £106million and hugely damaged their reputation.

The attack on the Jackson files occurred shortly afterwards but has not been revealed until now.
The hack was discovered during routine monitoring of social networking sites, Jackson fan sites and hacking forums.

A source close to the company said: 'Everything Sony purchased from the Michael Jackson estate was compromised.

'It caused them to check their systems and they found the breach. There was a degree of sophistication.

'Sony identified the weakness and plugged the gap.'

The hack has compromised the work of other artists managed by the firm, including songs by Jimi Hendrix, Paul Simon, Olly Murs, the Foo Fighters and Avril Lavigne.

The source added that the second breach happening so soon after the first 'would have made investors and artists think, 'What other part of Sony isn't secure?''

Last night Sony admitted there had been a security breach and that the Michael Jackson material had been stolen but refused to say how much the hackers downloaded.

A source within the company said that although the Jackson estate had been told about the hack the company did not have to make the knowledge public as there was no customer data involved.
They added that computer experts had traced the hack to the UK by examining a 'fingerprint' allegedly left behind.

The Serious Organised Crime division took up the case and two men appeared in court last week charged with offences under the computer Misuse Act.

They denied all charges and were remanded on bail.

Whitney Houston had secret affair with Jermaine Jackson

http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/whitney-houston-had-secret-affair-with-jermaine-jackson/story-e6frfku0-1226288798785

TRAGIC Whitney Houston had a secret affair with Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine.

The romance explains why 56-year-old Jermaine Jackson, a married man at the time, was so distraught by pop diva Houston's death in a Los Angeles hotel last month.

A friend of both singers confirmed the relationship, saying, "Her death has devastated Jermaine because of the history between them. No one understood the scale of his grief because they didn't know what they shared."

Houston's No.1 hit Saving All My Love For You echoed the story of her secret affair with the Jackson 5 star.

The blockbuster ballad is about a woman having a romance with a married man - as Jermaine Jackson was at the time - and waiting for him to be hers.

Houston even hired a Jermaine Jackson lookalike for the song's video. It features the romeo's wife keeping an eagle eye on his mistress.

Michael Jackson was among the few people who knew about the pair's year-long passionate relationship, but he did not approve of it.

Houston and Jermaine Jackson never lost touch after the affair ended.

She comforted him after the Thriller singer Jacko died in 2009.

And Jermaine Jackson was shattered when Houston was found dead in her hotel bathtub last month.

He was so grief-stricken he could not bring himself to attend her funeral in New Jersey.

Whitney Houstons Affair To Make Michael Jackson Jealous

http://www.celebdirtylaundry.com/2012/whitney-houstons-affair-with-jermaine-jackson-to-make-michael-jackson-jealous-0304/

Whitney Houston wanted to be Mrs Michael Jackson. She wanted to marry the King of Pop and become the undisputed Queen of Pop. So when she couldn’t get her claws into MJ she went after his brother. It’s now been revealed Whit and Jermaine Jackson were more than good friends – they had a year long affair while he was married.

According to The Sun she hooked up with Jermaine around 1984 when she was on the verge of super stardom. She’d always had her eye on his younger brother Michael but when he didn’t show any romantic interest she set her sights on the older Jermaine. She wanted to make Michael jealous and thought seeing his brother would do the trick. It didn’t. Michael found out about the affair and didn’t approve. But Whit ended up falling hard for Jermaine. It ended when he wouldn’t leave his wife for her.

He is said to have inspired one of her early videos for the song Saving All My Love For You. Coincidentally the song is about a woman who’s in love with a married man. There was even a Jermaine lookalike playing the guy in the music video. He’s always been open about their friendship – he even discussed it in his book last year – but never admitted they ended up as lovers.

The two stayed in touch. They spent a lot of time together when Michael died in 2009. Jermaine is said to have been inconsolable when he heard about Whitney’s passing. A source telling the paper ‘‘Her death has devastated Jermaine because of the history between them. No one understood the scale of his grief because they didn’t know what they shared.‘ We do now.

Calif. Medical Board Finally Moves to Revoke Conrad Murray's License After Michael Jackson Death

http://www.reportingonhealth.org/blogs/2012/03/07/calif-medical-board-finally-moves-revoke-conrad-murrays-license-after-michael-jacks (Archiv-Version vom 09.03.2012)

The Medical Board of California has filed a petition to revoke Dr. Conrad Murray’s medical license, nearly three years after Michael Jackson died after taking anesthesia drugs prescribed and administered by Murray.

Jackson died on June 25, 2009. Since that time, Murray has been charged, tried, convicted of involuntary manslaughter, and sentenced to four years in prison. At any point, the medical board could have filed an accusation against Jackson and started the process of revoking his license.

In June 2010 – one year after Jackson’s death – Antidote wrote that the board had dropped the ball by waiting so long to revoke Murray’s license and by failing to seek an interim suspension order:

In Murray’s case, the board could make a compelling claim that it exhausted its remedies in the criminal court before resorting to civil court. If a doctor using anesthesia simply to help a patient sleep isn’t dangerous, I’m not sure what is.

In January 2011, state prosecutors finally persuaded a Superior Court judge to take action where the medical board had failed. The judge suspended Murray’s license to practice medicine and ordered that the state notify all other states where Murray was licensed about the suspension. Yet the medical board still sat on the sidelines and did not file a petition to revoke Murray’s license.

Other states have been slow to act, too, even by state medical board standards. The Nevada Board of Medical Examiners showed the world a new standard for cluelessness when it filed charges against Murray in March 2010 – not for anything related to Jackson’s death but instead because Murray “twice failed to disclose to the Board that he was out of compliance with his court ordered child support obligation.” Being a deadbeat dad trumped failing to call 911 when a patient died under his care. And yet, the Nevada board was saved from complete infamy by at least having the good sense to allow Murray’s license to expire in June 2011.

Hawaii did the same thing, essentially. The state’s Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs let Murray’s license expire in January 2010. Murray had been licensed there since 2001.

The Texas Medical Board waited until after Murray was sentenced in criminal court to suspend his license in February 2012. This is a step below the more serious action of forcing Murray to permanently surrender his license. By contrast, Dr. Rolando Arafiles had to permanently surrender his license in November 2011, the same month Murray was convicted of manslaughter in Jackson’s death. Arafiles did not kill any patients. His main infraction was lying to the board and intimidating witnesses against him.

And that brings us back to California. On February 22, the board finally filed a petition to revoke Murray’s license. There are only two causes for action: conviction of a crime and failure to maintain adequate records. The main details of Jackson’s death are included, but the accusation reads more like a formality than anything else. In a 10-page document, the board spends five pages just going over the applicable state code sections. The actual crimes perpetrated by Murray barely amount to four pages. They do include this nice summation, though:

Respondent’s acts and omissions in treating patient M.J. were so grossly negligent that they rose to the level of criminal homicide. Respondent administered a lethal combination and amount of drugs to patient M.J. He failed to continuously monitor the patient’s vital signs, appropriately maintain his airway, or ensure the presence of life saving equipment at the bedside. There was no continuous oxygen delivery system or cardiac monitoring in place. Respondent did not continuously monitor the pulse oximetry and blood pressure of patient M.J. No continuous intravenous access line was established for the patient. There was no crash cart, appropriate emergency resuscitation drugs, defibrillator, or medical personnel present in the patient’s room, other than Respondent.

Any one of those failures would be good reason to take action against a physician’s license. Nearly all of them were known within days of Jackson’s death. After many different journalistic investigations and legislative inquiries, the board has learned how to act more quickly in recent years. It’s simply astonishing that it has taken this long to take action in a case where the facts are so clear.

I’ve asked the medical board for comment. I’ll let you know what I hear.

Lawyer: MJ Theft Accused Will Prove Innocence

http://www.mjjunderground.com/2012/03/07/lawyer-mj-theft-accused-will-prove-innocence/ (Archiv-Version vom 10.03.2012)

A lawyer for two Michael Jackson fans accused of stealing unreleased music by the late King of Pop from Sony’s computers says the men are confident they can prove their innocence in court.

Karen Todner says James Marks and Jamie McCormick “are eager to point out to Michael Jackson’s fans and family that they would never do anything to harm the legacy that is Michael Jackson’s music.”

In a statement Wednesday, she also quoted Jackson: “Lies run sprints but the truth runs marathons.”

The two British men were arrested last year after Sony Music Entertainment noticed a breach of its systems.

Marks, 26, and McCormick, 25, pleaded not guilty last week at Leicester Crown Court in central England. They were freed on bail and are due to stand trial in January.
