Sonnenobservatorien melden Sonnensturm mittlerer Stärke auf dem Weg zur Erde

Die beiden Sonnenobservatorien "SDO" und "Hinode" haben kürzlich einen so genannten koronalen Masseauswurf auf der Sonne beobachtet. Dabei sorgen schnell wechselnde starke Magnetfelder dafür, dass Teilchen - hauptsächlich Elektronen und Protonen - von der Sonne fortgeschleudert werden.

Oft treten solche Ereignisse im Bereich von Sonnenflecken auf, welche kühlere Regionen im Vergleich zur heißeren Umgebung darstellen. Ausgangspunkt des aktuellen Sonnensturms war der Sonnenfleck 1092, der unterschiedlich schnelle Teilchen Richtung Erde schleuderte, von denen die erste Welle bereits angekommen ist.

Die zweite Front soll am Mittwoch die Erde erreichen, wobei ein direkter Treffer noch nicht sicher ist. Sie ist von mittlerer Stärke und kann Polarlichter auslösen. Gefahr für Satelliten besteht nach Angaben der ESA allerdings nicht. Möglicherweise zeichnet sich aber der Beginn einer erhöhten Sonnenaktivität ab.

Ist ja schon lange vermutet (für mich erwiesen) das die Sonnenstürme die Erde dahingehend beeinflussen.
Die treten ja sehr oft auf, diese Intervalle sind mal einige Jahre stärker und einige Jahre schwächer.
Wir befinden uns in dem stärkeren Zeitraum ^^

Ich muss mich mal wieder etwas in diese Thematik einlesen, ist so lange her...

Seit Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts befindet sich die Sonne in einer ungewöhnlich aktiven Phase, wie Forscher der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft meinen. Die Sonnenaktivität ist demnach etwa doppelt so hoch wie der langfristige Mittelwert, und höher als jemals in den vergangenen 1000 Jahren. Ein internationales Forscherteam hat die Sonnenaktivität der vergangenen Jahrtausende untersucht. Seit dem Ende des letzten Glazials war die Sonne demnach selten so aktiv wie seit den 1940er-Jahren bis heute. Wie Wissenschaftler aus Deutschland, Finnland und der Schweiz in der Zeitschrift "Nature" (28. Oktober 2004) berichten, muss man über 8.000 Jahre in der Erdgeschichte zurückgehen, bis man einen Zeitraum findet, in dem die Sonne im Mittel ebenso aktiv war wie in den vergangenen 60 Jahren.

Starkes Erdbeben bei Papua-Neuguinea - Keine Tsunami-Warnung


Vor der Küste Papua-Neuguineas in Ozeanien hat sich am Donnerstag (08.01 Uhr Ortszeit, 00.01 Uhr MESZ) ein Erdbeben der Stärke 7,0 ereignet. Das Epizentrum habe 145 Kilometer östlich von Kandrian auf der Insel New Britain gelegen, teilte die US-Erdbebenwarte mit. Die Erschütterungen wurden in 54 Kilometern Tiefe gemessen. Es wurde kein Tsunami-Alarm ausgelöst. Papua-Neuguinea liegt am sogenannten Pazifischen Feuerring mit besonders starker vulkanischer Aktivität und vielen Erdbeben.
