Recently my son went outside just after dark. He ran back in telling me there was something out side making a strange noise. I went outside thinking I was going to hear the nearby bulls, dogs, or even a coyote. What I heard was the strangest sound I had ever heard. We stood there for quite a while trying to figure out what it could be until my five year old started crying saying he was scared.
Today I listened to several video [audio] clips of the Sasquatch Whoop Howl. That is the EXACT sound I heard. I got chills when I heard these recordings.
I then looked up sightings in Texas to see if it were possible that there could be any in my area. I was shocked to discover that there had been sightings very close to my house in Newton County on the Sabine River. I even found where there had been a sighting in Buna, which is where I live, in the 1980's. I live in a wooded area. The woods behind me, over 500 acres, have been untouched for over a hundred years. It has just recently been sold and timber starting to be cut in the area. I am wondering if this is stirring it up? Please let me know if you think it could be possible that what I heard is real. I know that is the sound I heard. I will be listening now every night and hope to get a recording. Also, my children play in the woods quite often. Is there any danger for them playing in the woods? acres, have been untouched for over a hundred years. It has just recently been sold and timber starting to be cut in the area. I am wondering if this is stirring it up?

Myself and two friends were on the dock night fishing. No fire, red headlamps. Dark and silent night, with a bright moon peeking through dense clouds.
Suddenly this humanoid/primate wooOOP. WooOOP. WooOOP. Repeated three times. My first thought was that it was a person messing with us, but as it continued it sounded less human and more ape. Insanely loud, and massive chest. I could feel the sound kind of like the bass at a concert. It scared all of us silent for awhile. It couldn't have been further then 100 yards, maybe much closer. It sounded like it was at the end of the dock, but was not.
I did look back but it was far too dark to see anything. A few moments later, we heard what almost sounded like children chatting from the other side of the lake. Humaniod/primate, but small and further away. On the edge of hearing. Very bizzare.
It wasn't until a few minutes after this event just when all the forest noises came back did I realize it was dead silent during the event.
We tried to recreate the noise the next evening, and we couldn't come close in volume and depth of the woops. It wasn't a threatening or violent tone, but exceptionally intimidating. Made me feel small and vulnerable, but it was not a hostile or aggressive call. Whatever made that noise was massive. It is very simular to the "Sierra Sounds" wooping.
My wife and I were on a sunset walk through the Founders Grove in the Redwoods everything got really quiet and then something chattered. Stood quiet a second gave a simple “whoop” and something vocalized again. Spent a lot of time in the woods and I’ve never felt that just almost immediate dread. Whatever it was was huge. Always have found the stories entertaining, but my goodness there is nothing more terrifying than being in the woods just past sunset and hearing that. We HIGHTAILED it back the car.
I live on a wooded multi-acre property with a pond. Leaving my house and beginning up my driveway, I saw a bipedal man-like ape "leap" across the drive in ONE "step" and immediately disappear into the woods. It went from the left side to the right and disappeared into the woods. It appeared very tall, but the moment I saw it, it was literally in the air, crossing. I've lived here for several years and am very familiar with wildlife. The only larger animals are deer, hogs, and an occasional wayward cow. This was more than twice the height of any of those. It was shaped like a huge man/ape, definitely upright, definitely no clothes, and very deep black hair covering its body. I was absolutely caught off guard and confused, and keep driving up the drive but did not see it again.
About 2 years back, two times in the middle of the night, I heard a "whooping" sound from various directions of the woods. We wondered what it was because it sounded more like an ape than anything else. Definitely not a boar or cattle. People who lived all their lives here seemed to think it was a "normal" sound, but that was going by my imitation, and I felt like they thought it was hilarious that I was questioning animal sounds, so I just never brought it up again. Then today, this man-like ape leaps across my path and literally was gone in seconds.
In 2013 in early November (I can't remember the date) I decided to go hiking that afternoon.
[...]
Everything went quiet. Birds stopped chirping, squirrels got still. I was being watched by something. The woods just don't go silent like that so I immediately went on guard. At this moment I was standing in the middle of the feed plot 20 yards away from the tree line in any direction. Scared I turned around to see if I could retreat back to where I came from. Because I had nothing on me. I was ill-prepared to defend myself if I needed to. After I turned around and saw that nothing was behind me, but not sure what was watching I quickly walked back to the treeline. The moment I got back to the treeline facing the direction of the trailhead. I heard what sounded like something of a low grumbling whoop to my right side (hillside of the trail). And I froze. Taking a second to collect my thoughts of "I walked right past this thing" and " it is between me and the house". I made the decision to confront it thinking it may be a black bear (they are rare in that part of Texas but people see them from time to time). I'm 6 foot 2 inches tall and 240ish pounds at this point. This is what you're supposed to do with a black bear. And hogs, wolves, mountain lions don't make the sound I just heard. So I yelled "HEYY!!! THIS IS MY HILL". And It stepped out from behind a pine tree about 10 yards to my front and right. And yelled back at me. It was a lot bigger than me. After that, it took one step over the trail and jumped to the bottom of the wash. I could hear it running on 2 feet for a few seconds. I ran back to the house. My neighbor said he heard a deep echoing yell before he saw me running home.
Physical evidence:
I was scared out of my mind, I did not go hiking again that year. Just visual evidence, auburn/brown hair 7-8 feet tall, had breasts and large teeth in the k9 position. Looked like what would fit the traditional description of a bigfoot from other stories I've heard.
